The Grammy-winning international superstar Burna Boy releases the new single “Tatata” today, kicking off his eagerly awaited eighth studio album, “No Sign of Weakness.”
Burna Boy used Nigerian pidgin English, a pop rap flow, and lively Brazilian funk music to create the song.
Baltasar Engonga, a controversial public official from Equatorial Guinea who gained international attention for his extensive collection of sex films with several women, was mentioned by the hitmaker in the song.
With phrases that left little room for interpretation, Travis Scott’s sultry rap flow enhanced Burna Boy’s verse and further emphasized the song’s theme.
“Tatata” follows Burna Boy’s release of the reggae single “Sweet Love,” which keeps building anticipation for his next album, “No Sign of Weakness.”
‘Bundle By Bundle,’ a prior album by Burna Boy, has received over 24 million Spotify plays and 8.5 million video views.
Burna Boy most recently remixed the viral hit “4 Kampรฉ” with French-Haitian singer Joรฉ Dwรจt Filรฉ, combining Haitian Kompa and Afrobeats to create a cross-cultural hymn that is still charting on various platforms worldwide.
Burna Boy was the first African singer to headline the Stade de France, and his historic, sold-out performance there last month made him the first-ever cover hero of Billboard France.
Following his performance at the Stade de France, the multi-award-winning international icon performed in Manchester, where he sold out the Co-op Arena, the largest indoor arena in England.
