Images of Nollywood actress Chika Ike’s newborn, a girl, have been released. The actress, who had been the subject of rumors that Senator Ned Nwoko was her child’s father, posted pictures of herself holding her baby on Instagram on Thursday to show her happiness.
“My baby is here… Welcome to the world, my sunshine,” she wrote.
Actress Ini Edo responded with a series of congratulations in her comment section.
“Awwwwwww, congratulations sis.”
Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim also chimed in, saying, “Congratulations, Sis! Welcome to the world, baby girl.” Her co-star Ruby Ojiakor added, “Biggest congratulations, momma.” Chika Ike had previously addressed the prevailing rumors regarding her child’s father, calling them unfounded and deceptive, prior to releasing her baby’s pictures.
Taking to her Instagram page, she stated, “There have been all sorts of lies peddled about me in the media for years, but I always treated them like what they are—rumors that needed no response. However, this is not the same; it concerns my child.
She insisted that she has no interest in becoming Senator Ned Nwoko’s seventh wife, making it apparent that naming him as the father of her child was merely a guessing game.
“Ned isn’t the father of my child,” he stated, adding, “and whoever’s name you could discover later in your guessing games… I’m not going to become a seventh wife! I am not suited for polygamy.
Chika Ike disclosed that she had chosen to make her pregnancy public until when she was ready, keeping it a secret for months.
“No one even knew I was pregnant until I made the announcement,” she claimed. “I’ve been pregnant for months now. And you all believe you’ll know my child’s father or anything that’s going on in my life? Very laughable and clueless!”
