JAMB Confirms Mop-Up Exam Date for UTME 2025
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the 2025 UTME Mop-Up Examination will hold on Saturday, June 28, 2025. This development comes as a relief for 96,838 candidates who either missed the initial exam or encountered technical difficulties during their sessions.
The board made the announcement via a press release, clarifying candidate eligibility and what they need to do to prepare ahead of the exam date.
Who Is Eligible for the Mop-Up Exam?
JAMB has outlined three categories of candidates who are eligible to participate in this crucial mop-up session:
5,096 spillover candidates—those who were not captured in the initial UTME or whose results were delayed.
Candidates with biometric verification issues during previous UTME sessions.
91,742 candidates who were absent during the main UTME or rescheduled exams for various legitimate reasons.
“Only candidates who meet the above criteria are expected to take part in this mop-up. Anyone not invited should stay away from exam centers,” JAMB emphasized.
CBT Centres and Reassignment Notice
The mop-up exam will be conducted across 183 computer-based test (CBT) centers nationwide. However, due to malpractice reports and technical failures, JAMB has blacklisted 113 centers from future operations.
Candidates who were earlier assigned to these suspended centers will be reassigned to other approved centers and notified via SMS and email.
