Nigerian Railway Corporation Enhances Train Services for Eid-al-Kabir Festivities

In anticipation of increased travel during the Eid-al-Kabir celebrations, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced additional train services to accommodate the surge in passenger demand.

Expanded Lagos–Ibadan Train Schedule
For Thursday, June 5, 2025, the Lagos–Ibadan Train Service (LITS) will operate the following schedule:

Lagos to Ibadan:

8:00 AM

1:55 PM (Additional Trip)

4:00 PM

Ibadan to Lagos:

8:00 AM

11:03 AM (Additional Trip)

4:46 PM (Adjusted from the usual 4:00 PM departure)

These adjustments aim to facilitate smoother travel for passengers during the festive period.

Special Warri–Itakpe Service
Recognizing the importance of the Eid-al-Kabir holiday, the NRC will operate a special train service on the Warri–Itakpe route on Thursday, June 5, 2025—a day typically reserved for maintenance. To accommodate this, routine maintenance activities have been rescheduled to Sunday, June 8, 2025.

Abuja–Kaduna Route Enhancements
The Abuja–Kaduna Train Service (AKTS) will maintain its regular schedule throughout the holiday period. However, to manage the anticipated increase in passengers, additional coaches will be attached to the trains.

Dr. Kayode Opeifa, Managing Director of the NRC, extended festive greetings to all passengers and reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to providing safe, efficient, and customer-focused railway services during the celebrations.
