Shortly after the wedding, media personality Destiny Ezeyim, known as Radiogad, made bold claims about Moc Madu’s intentions, alleging that he married Ruby for fame and financial gain. Radiogad questioned the absence of prominent Nollywood celebrities at the wedding, suggesting they might have had reservations about the union. He stated:
“How many Nollywood celebrities did you see in attendance at Ruby Ojiakor’s wedding? They know that Ruby made a mistake and fell victim to his dubious act.”
In response, Moc Madu’s sister, Nkem, defended her brother, showcasing an uncompleted building allegedly owned by Madu to counter claims of financial instability. She argued that this evidence proves her brother is established and doesn’t need any woman’s financial support.

The wedding also drew attention due to a guest’s revealing outfit. Veteran actress Rita Edochie criticized the attire, prompting a public feud with the guest, Nneoma Ukpabi. Rita accused Nneoma of indecency and alleged past misconduct within the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). She stated:
“You are a bad influence and should not be mingled with.”
Nneoma responded by warning Rita to keep her name out of her mouth or risk having her “dirty secrets” exposed.
