Speed Darlington’s claimed confession of having sexual relations with a juvenile has been forwarded by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for additional examination. During his Instagram live video, which went viral on social media on Tuesday, Speed Darlington apparently admitted to having sex with a 15-year-old girl in a hotel. The controversial singer claimed he had sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl, and he gave her ₦2,000 afterwards, following bloodstains on the bedsheet.
Speed Darlington recounted the experience, saying: “Because the thing somehow tells an adult to come and clean blood that I brought out of a 15-year-old girl’s body.” I only work for myself; I can never work for anyone else. I hurried to N2000 before they could come and change my sheets.
Netizens and social media influencers have been outraged by this, and many of them have called for authorities to step in and stop what they have labeled “rape.”
Lagos DSVA responds
“The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, DSVA, is aware of the disturbing video currently circulating online, in which a popular entertainer allegedly admits to engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a minor,” the Lagos DSVA wrote in a response to the video in an X post.
“We must make it clear that the DSVA’s jurisdiction is restricted to Lagos State, even though the person in question did not specify the incident’s location during the Instagram Live session.” The body explained.
