Former X Factor finalist Amelia Lily has joyfully announced the birth of her first child, a daughter named Pearl McQueen, with fiancé Eddie McQueen. The 30-year-old singer shared the news on Instagram, revealing that Pearl was born on May 23, 2025, at 10:11 a.m., weighing 8.12 pounds. Amelia described her pregnancy as “the best secret we’ve ever kept,” expressing gratitude to the staff at James Cook Hospital for their care during a challenging start.
Amelia and Eddie, who got engaged in November 2024, had kept the pregnancy private. Eddie is the son of Manchester United and Scotland football legend Gordon McQueen. Amelia, originally from Middlesbrough, gained fame in 2011 as a finalist on The X Factor and has since released singles, toured with acts like Girls Aloud and Olly Murs, and appeared in theatre and TV shows including Geordie Shore and Celebrity Big Brother, where she finished second in its 20th season.
In her heartfelt Instagram post, Amelia wrote:
“The best secret we’ve ever kept… Myself and Eddie would like to introduce our daughter, Pearl McQueen. Born 23.05.25 at 10:11am weighing a little chunky 8.12lbs. Nine months of carrying you, Pearl, and being in our little pregnancy bubble. Now you are finally here. We’ve had a bit of a rough start but we’re on the mend now. I cannot thank all the midwives, nurses, and consultants at James Cook Hospital enough for looking after us both. I’ll forever be grateful. Baby Pearl, you have made all our dreams come true.”
