According to reports, Honorable Natasha Osawaru, the lover of Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, well known as 2baba, was expelled as a minority leader from the Edo State House of Assembly. On April 7, 2025, word spread that Osawaru and Charity Aiguobarueghian, the majority leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), had been ousted. According to Daily Trust, the PDP’s Hon. Yekini Idaiye, the Chief Whip of the House, was also dismissed. Nonetheless, PDP members Maria Edeko and Hon. Blessing Agbebaku continued to serve as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.
The news of Honorable Natasha Osawaru losing her position at the Edo state House of Assembly quickly caught the attention of many Nigerians, especially after her public relationship with 2baba. The state’s acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jarret Tenebe, reportedly sent a letter to the assembly outlining the changes in the Edo state House of Assembly after the PDP lost its majority status in the assembly due to the defection of four of its lawmakers to the APC.
