In response to the rise in ex-depot costs, filling stations have begun to modify the prices of their fuel pumps. According to reliable sources, gas prices at a few of the filling stations we visited have risen to almost N860 per liter. While managers wait for word from their central offices regarding the next pricing, other gas outlets stay closed.
The cost of one liter of Premium Motor Spirit, or gasoline, has been altered by fuel station owners. Compared to the previous average of N870 per liter, the new prices indicate an increase of more than N30. In addition to the price adjustment, many gas stations in Lagos were shuttered, leaving employees to wait outside. The landing cost of imported gasoline increased to N885 per litre, according to new data released on Wednesday, March 27 by the Major Energy Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN). Compared to the previous price of N797, this indicates a rise of N88 in just one week.
