Prohibited substances have been found in the Onitsha Bridgehead drug market in Anambra State by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, or NAFDAC.
This was made public by NAFDAC in a post on its X account that included a video of the raid.
The drugs were concealed in stores that sold plumbing supplies.
Agency officials confiscated two trailer loads of illegal pharmaceuticals, counterfeit medications, and prohibited tramadol.
"NAFDAC discovered illegal drugs concealed inside PLUMBING MATERIALS SHOPS at the Onitsha Bridgehead Drug Market in a shocking discovery," the tweet stated.
"Police confiscated two trailer loads of illegal drugs, prohibited tramadol, and fake medications hidden in these stores."
